Stationary object locking
In projects where the Static objectsStatic objects guided workflow is required, stationary objects are locked outside the workflow. Completing an object in the Guided Workflow is typically sufficient for quality purposes — the locking helps you avoid unnecessary rework in the main view, so you can focus on what is not done yet.
What is locked
Once you exit the Guided Workflow, stationary objects cannot be edited in the main view:
- In the right-side menu, locked objects show a lock icon, and their names and IDs appear dimmed. You can still expand them to view their properties and links, but editing is blocked.
- In the main view, locked objects also show a lock icon.
Editing a locked object
If you need to change a locked object's shape or properties, right-click it and select Edit in Guided Workflow. This reopens the object in the Guided Workflow, where you can edit it.
Creating stationary objects
You cannot create a stationary object directly in the main view. If you create an object and set its stationary property to yes, you are automatically redirected into the Guided Workflow to complete it there.
Changing an object from dynamic to stationary
When you switch an existing object from dynamic to stationary, a Confirm property change dialog appears:
If you proceed, all but the most suitable edited frame are deleted and the Guided Workflow opens so you can complete the object from there.
Movement restriction
While an object is being worked on as stationary, it can only be moved within a limited region around its established position — a sphere shown in the 3D scene. If you try to drag the box beyond it, the warning "You cannot move the object any further." appears. This keeps a stationary object from drifting away from its true location.
