when does it make sense to pause a task? pausing a task lets you start a new task without submitting your current work this is helpful if you're waiting for someone's help and can't move forward otherwise how do i pause a task? this feature is currently under beta testing and is only available to certain users you can pause a task by following these steps inside a production task, open the general menu in the task view's top bar the option is not available in training and demo tasks, as well as in view links click the option "pause task" if the option is disabled, it means that you have already reached the maximum limit of allowed paused tasks this limit is currently 3 a dialog will open, in which you must provide a note before pausing the task the purpose of this note is to allow you to write down details that make you recognize the task as well as remember why you paused it this will make it easier for you to find the task when you later want to resume it click the "pause task" button, and the task should be paused thereafter! π how many tasks can i pause? you can only have three tasks paused at a time if you have paused three tasks the "pause task" button will be disabled how do i resume a paused task? once you are ready to resume a paused task, you can do so from the my tasks page you can resume the task in two ways, both of which are described below resuming from the banner go to the page my tasks docid\ bgtv8prkhlmdeoxebbu31 when you have paused one or more tasks a banner will appear at the top of the "production tasks" section to view the currently paused tasks and resume them later, click "resume paused tasks" a dialog will open that contains all your currently paused tasks, no matter which request or workflow stage they're part of locate the task you want to resume you can use the available information (such as request name, paused date, and note) and filters to help you find the task you're looking for select the task you want to resume by clicking on it click the "resume task" button in the lower right corner of the dialog the task is resumed and opened in the task view π resuming from a request card go to the page my tasks locate the request in which you paused the task you want to resume a separate card on the page represents each request find the workflow stage of the paused task and click the "resume paused task" button a dialog will open showing all paused tasks for the selected workflow stage and request find the task you want to resume if there are multiple paused tasks, use the available information, such as pause date and note, to identify the right one select the task you want to resume by clicking on it click the "resume task" button in the lower right corner of the dialog the task is resumed and opened in the task view π as a manager, can i see that tasks are paused in a request? to determine if any tasks have been paused within a specific request, you can do so via the request's tasks docid\ nzjynohsym97 hqecnq4w tab a paused task will have the task status "paused if you want to find all currently paused tasks inside the request, you can use the task status filter to find all paused tasks can i unpause someone else's task? you can't unpause a task that someone else has paused if you want the team member who paused the task to continue working on it, you will need to reach out to them and ask them to do so if you are in a situation where a task is paused, the team member who paused it isn't available, and the task needs to be resumed, you can reassign it to another team member you can read more about how to do this in the guide 'reassigning a task'
