My Tasks
This is your main entry point to annotate, correct, and review tasks in the Kognic platform. On this page, you see all requests in which you have tasks available. If you want to work on a task, this is where you open them from. In addition, you can find statistics for your working progress during the last few weeks - giving you insight into how much time you have worked and how productive you have been.
Below, we will go into detail about the page and its content. If you want to get straight to the point and start annotating, you can read the Guide: Create your first annotationο»Ώο»Ώ

In this section, you see information about how much work you have completed over the last weeks and how much time you have spent doing tasks in the Kognic platform.

The section contains two graphs showing your daily number of completed tasks and submitted shapes over the last 14 days, providing insight into your productivity.
A task is completed when all annotation, correction, or review work is finished and the submit button is clicked. It will not be reflected in the graph until it has been submitted.
A shape is the representation of an object in a specific sensor and a specific time frame. The number of shapes is counted when a task is submitted and completed.
If you want more detailed insight into how you perform in your tasks, you can get that on the page My Performanceο»Ώο»Ώ
The annotation time is the time you have worked actively on annotate, correct, or review tasks excluding breaks longer than 3 minutes. The annotation time is updated every time you submit a task, and only the time during which you are working on a task will be counted as annotation time.

Q: My annotation time does not show up, why is that?
A: There is a delay of 10 minutes after a task has been submitted for it to show up in the dashboard.
ο»Ώ
Q: My annotation time does still not show up even if I have waited 10 minutes?!
A: In rare cases, there is a problem when the annotation time is about to be calculated. Then the annotation time will be calculated during the night and will therefore mean an even greater delay.

Q: I have worked on a task but when I want to open it again, it is gone. Is my time on that task gone?
A: No. When tasks expire (and disappear for the user) for various reasons, the time spent on that task will be counted.
In the sections Production tasks, Training and Examination tasks, and Demo task, you find all requests in which tasks are available for you to work on. In each card representing a request, you can see which tasks are available and open them when needed. So you will see two cards if you have tasks available in both Request A and Request B.
The requests are sorted A-Z by their name. To fully understand what task you should work on right at the moment - make sure to align with your team lead or quality manager. The requests and their task types aren't ordered according to their priority or urgency.
The requests are organized into three sections depending on the task category of its available tasks. The sections are described below.
Contains requests with available production tasks. Production tasks are used to produce annotated data for an end customer. Here, you should focus on performing according to the task's time and quality expectations. What you produce and submit will be part of the end delivery.
βΉοΈ The section can contain requests with assigned demo tasks if the request also contains available production tasks.
In this section, you find all tasks that are given to you as part of Kognic's onboarding process. The tasks can be of two categories:
- Training These are tasks focused on getting used to the tool and the guideline. The quality and time will not be measured for tasks of this category. Training tasks will also appear on the dashboard if you are put in Retention or Idle mode.
- Examination These are tasks where you should apply what you learned in the training task and perform according to the task's time and quality expectations. The tasks are used to determine if you are ready to start working with production tasks.
Annotators may be placed in Retention and Idle mode by administrators. When in this mode, only Training tasks will appear on the dashboard, all other tasks will be hidden for as long as you are in Retention or Idle mode.
All requests in which you have only been assigned Demo tasks appear in this section. Demo tasks are example tasks. The annotations and corrections made in these tasks aren't saved on submit, but you can work on them and your progress in a specific task will be saved.
The most important part of the request task cards is your available tasks, and which workflow stage they belong to. The task's workflow stage describes which phase of the request's production workflow the task is part of (such as annotation or review) and which action you are expected to take in the task (annotate, correct, review, quality assure). For example, "Review: Correct" refers to a correction task in the Review phase.

Depending on a request's configured Annotation Workflow and your responsibility inside the request, tasks from different workflow stages can become available to you.
Workflow stage | Description | ο»ΏAnnotation Workflowsο»Ώο»Ώ |
Annotation: Annotate | A task where you should annotate from scratch, i.e. you start with an empty task and fill it with annotations based on the provided guideline. | AC and CQC |
Correction: Correct | A regular correction task, where you should go through and correct the full task.Β | AC and CQC |
Sampled QA: Quality Assure | A task in which Quality Managers improve the annotation quality as much as possible by correcting the full task or the highlighted frames. When submitted, Kognic will use the results from these tasks to estimate the quality of the delivery. | CQC |
Review: Correct | A correction task where you should improve the annotation based on correction requests and feedback. Review corrections are created when a reviewer rejects the quality of an annotation. | Review Flow |
Review: Review | A task in which a Quality Expert is asked to determine if the annotation is of acceptable or unacceptable quality. If the task quality is unacceptable, the expert also provides correction requests and feedback, which is presented in a review correction. | Review Flow |

The task types are organized into two sections: Ongoing and Not started. If a task type is placed in the Ongoing section it means that you have started working on a task of that type, you will then be able to Resume the task. For the task types placed in the Not Started section, you don't have a started task and would instead Start a new task.
For each available task type, you will see additional information such as task category, tasks assigned, tasks completed, and average time per task.
For each available task type, you are presented with some additional information.
- Assigned The number of tasks you have been manually assigned of the specific task type within the request. If you haven't been manually assigned tasks, the card will say "Tasks available" instead.
- Completed The number of tasks you have completed and submitted of the specific task type within the request.
- Average time (Avg time) The average time it takes to complete one task of the specific task type within the request. The average time is calculated based on tasks submitted by all team members.
