My Tasks (Beta)
Beta This feature is currently only available to certain organizations. The plan is to make it available in all projects as soon as possible.
What's different
My Tasks has a new layout, tested in two projects. If you work in one of them, My Tasks opens in the new layout. Click Switch back to old version at any time to return to the old page, and Try the beta to come back. The old page is described in My Tasksο»Ώ.
What's new:
- A Prioritized tasks tab with the one task to start next in each project.
- A tab per project, with that project's prioritized task, your performance and all your tasks.
- If someone takes a task just before you, you get a message instead of an empty task view.
If you can, start from Prioritized tasks. The task there is the one closest to delivery that you can work on, so finishing it first gets feedback back to you sooner and helps the project deliver on time. The project tabs show everything else you can work on.
Prioritized tasks
The Prioritized tasks tab shows one card per project. Each card is the task the platform has picked for you in that project: the project, the workflow stage, the request and its input batch, and a button to start or resume it.
How the task is picked, in order:
- Requests the project has marked as Critical come first, in the order the project set.
- Among the rest, the task closest to delivery goes first: a correction after Client QA before a review, a review before a new annotation.
- Requests the project has marked as Low come last.
You only see tasks in workflow stages you are set up to work in.
If you already have an ongoing task in that workflow stage, the card says Resume ongoing task instead of Start new task. If you have paused tasks there, the card also shows Resume paused task, which lets you choose which paused task to pick up.
A project has no card here when there is no available task for you there. If you have no tasks at all in a project, no production, training or demo, the project gets no tab either.
Someone else may take the task just before you click. If so, you are given the next task in the same project and a message tells you; resume it from the project tab. If there are no more tasks there, you stay on My Tasks and are asked to try another one.
Project tabs
Each project you work in has its own tab, also listed in the sidebar. A project tab has three parts:
- Production prio: the same prioritized task as on the Prioritized tasks tab.
- Performance: your annotate speed over the last 7 days, against the project's target.
- All tasks: one row per request and workflow stage you can work on, split into Production, Training and Demo. Filter by request, ID, input batch or workflow stage.
- Last worked on shows when you last worked on each.
Start a new task. Find the request and workflow stage you want, then click Start new task. The task opens in the task view. If the task was taken in the meantime, you stay on My Tasks and are asked to try another one.
Resume an ongoing task. If you left the task view without submitting, the request shows Resume ongoing task. Click it to pick up where you left off.
Resume a paused task. A paused task is one you set aside on purpose, for example while waiting for an answer. Paused tasks are never handed out automatically. Click Resume paused task on the row, or on the banner above the list that counts your paused production tasks, and choose the task to resume. Show only paused tasks narrows the list to them. See ππΌββοΈ Guide: Pausing tasksο»Ώ.
You can always pick any task from a project tab. The prioritized task is a strong suggestion, not a lock: start with it whenever you can.
