When you are done working, submit the task with the **Submit** button at the bottom of the right-side menu. In correction and review tasks a **Reset** button sits next to it, letting you start over from the task's original state.

## Submit

After you press **Submit**, a confirmation dialog appears. The dialog depends on the type of task:

- **Annotate** — the **Confirm task completion** dialog asks you to confirm that the annotation follows the provided guidelines. If the annotation is empty, an **Empty annotation** warning asks you to confirm before submitting.
- **Correct** — the **Submit correction task** dialog asks you to confirm that the task has been completed according to the guideline.
- **Review** — the **Submit review** dialog asks you to evaluate the quality of the assignment and accept or reject it. See [Accept/ reject tasks](docId\:agjC0N_Wq1Jrl9i2MOYk_).

:::hint{type="info"}
If the task has validation checks configured, a **Validate** button appears instead of Submit until the task passes validation. See [Task validation](docId:95Req-FnvamvdjK8pKwpc).
:::

### Why can't I submit?

When the Submit button is disabled, hover it to see the reason. The most common ones:

- **You opened the task through a view link.** View links are read-only — changes cannot be submitted.
- **Feedback is left to comment or resolve.** In correction tasks, you must act on all correction requests before submitting. See [Act on the feedback](docId\:a3Q9wn_ExY2_wQSOHtwFO).
- **Required properties are unfinished.** Set the missing property values in the Edit tab. See [Edit tab](docId\:zicM7AvHQ1eaF_HKrqLFp).

## Reset my changes

In correction and review tasks, [Reset my changes](docId\:G3x7X8EgJvSV2JZriqsYQ) in the Edit menu of the top menu bar, returns the task to the state it was in when you first received it. Every shape you have added, and every property value you have changed in the task, is deleted.

:::hint{type="warning"}
Resetting is irreversible. You cannot undo it, and your work cannot be recovered afterward.
:::

Selecting it opens the **Erase task data** dialog. Nothing is deleted until you confirm with **Erase my work**.

### Why can't I find Reset my changes?

The item only appears in correction and review tasks, where there is an earlier version of the annotation to return to. It is also hidden when you open a task through a view link, because view links are read-only.
