When you annotate 2D/3D fusion boxes, there are 4 steps you need to master. We provide a deeper explanation of each step further down on this page.

When you put everything together, the ideal workflow should resemble the following.

:::hint{type="warning"}
This workflow can be fully guided if you use [Action assist: 2D / 3D fusion](docId\:Take58EC1RmPcBLdkZrn4) if prelabels exists.

## Draw and edit 3D objects

### Draw with prelabels

If you are working with prelabels, [Copilot](docId:1KFJv7-eMBNRKxRV8oFfT) is the preferred option.

With any of the 3D box tools active, click on a prelabel to create a box, OR select the prelabel and then a class. This is the fastest option if the prelabel is of good quality.

### Draw without prelabels

If no prelabels are available or if an object was missed, use the regular drawing tools to create the object.

- If you are working with dynamic objects such as vehicles and pedestrians, use [Center mode](docId\:e7wp2MdiMgJfIhcVj1ma7) or [Side mode](docId\:ZdkgrBvXD6uwmF17C0FwH).
- If you are working with static objects such as traffic signs and traffic signals [Point mode](docId\:yMbch0f2-gEv54o0egP1-) is recommended.

### Edit 3D objects

The [Auto-adjust objects](docId\:V66INpJdyEuOFPHcXg6vm) feature resolves about 95% of all minor adjustments and is available for vehicle-type objects. To determine if the feature is available for a class, check if the class is drawn by default with machine assistance.

Second best for minor adjustments is to use the [Transformation controls](docId\:AI1c20I3hoU_BEXm8fFMX). Using the [snapping feature](docId\:AI1c20I3hoU_BEXm8fFMX) of the transformation control sets productive users apart from others. It is a must to learn when to use it.

## Draw and edit 2D objects

### Drawing objects

Editing objects in single frame is slow. Drawing the object is faster and requires at most 4 clicks - and if the prelabel is good enough, just one click. Since you should already have a 3D box that you are connecting, activate **draw connected object** by pressing the button in the right side menu *or* by pressing zero (default shortcut). Use the [2D bounding boxes](docId\:TfjsznROmWyAZm4_SMR5C) to create the object.

:::hint{type="info"}
You can use [Action Assist](docId\:Take58EC1RmPcBLdkZrn4) (`shift+space`) in order to quickly go to the next camera source where the 3D box is visible. You will be zoomed in to the location and the draw tool is activated for you making it even faster.
:::

### Draw with prelabels and automation

If you are working with prelabels then [Copilot](docId:1KFJv7-eMBNRKxRV8oFfT) is available to you. You can simply `shift+click` without a drawing tool active to create an identical bounding box. If there are many overlapping prelabels you can right click to send it to the back.

If the object is clearly visible not occluded in any way you can use the can use the[2D machine-assisted tools](docId\:B1putYlvp306OO0rSvOtq) if there are no prelabel at the location.

### Edit 2D objects

If you created the object from a prelabel with [Copilot](docId:1KFJv7-eMBNRKxRV8oFfT) (but it's not good enough) and the object is clearly visible and **not occluded** in any way, we recommend using [Auto adjust object](docId\:V66INpJdyEuOFPHcXg6vm).

Otherwise transform the object using the [transformation controls](docId\:TfjsznROmWyAZm4_SMR5C), or redraw the object with the [bounding box drawing tool](docId\:TfjsznROmWyAZm4_SMR5C). Placing four points can sometimes be more efficient than editing.

:::hint{type="info"}
Enable pixel snapping in the [Edit](docId:9IFtMkSTWw3vFHhb778Zx) menu. This will prevent you from making edits on sub-pixel level that is wasted time.

## Set properties

You can set properties in two ways.

1. Manually select property values in the object list,
2. Use Quick-properties to set values. This can be faster if you master using the number keys efficiently.
