Point mode

The point mode 3D box drawing tool let's you create boxes by "painting" which points should be included in the box. In the left tool bar you can select this as your prefered drawing tool for 3D boxes when you have selected a class.

If the selected class is configured to be required to be created with machine assistance, then this drawing tool will become disabled.

Drawing process

Manual box

  1. Select a class
  2. (Optional) Hold shift and adjust the size of the paint brush
  3. Click and hold
  4. Move the cursor to mark which points should be included in the 3D box.
  5. Let go and the object is created.

The 3D box that is created will always be facing towards the location that you are looking at the points from. So make sure that you are looking at the object from the front to avoid the need to rotate the object after it is created.

Auto alignment

When you have the point mode drawing tool active, you have the option to 'auto align' the camera to the face of the object. Holding shift and clicking at the location will align the view to be looking parallell to the major axis of the highlighted points.

If no primary direction can be calculated you will be notified and you will have to align the 3D camera manually.
