This guide covers how to find and start working on a task, for any task type, whether it's already assigned to you or you need to assign it to yourself.

There are two paths, depending on your workspace role:

- [My Tasks](docId\:bGTv8PrkHlmdeOxeBBu31)**:** available to everyone. Shows the tasks at the front of your queue. Use this for everyday work.
- **Request details → **[Tasks](docId\:nZJyNOhSyM97-HqECnq4W)** tab:** available if your workspace role includes request management (Annotation Manager, Project Manager, Developer, Admin). Use this when you need a *specific* task that isn't at the front of your queue, or when you need to assign a task to yourself.

## Via My Tasks

On the [My Tasks](docId\:bGTv8PrkHlmdeOxeBBu31) page, tasks are organized under their parent request (the delivery they belong to).

::::WorkflowBlock
:::WorkflowBlockItem
Under **Production**, locate the request you want to work in.
:::

:::WorkflowBlockItem
Open the task:

- **Not started:** for tasks you haven't begun yet.
- **Ongoing:** to continue a task you've already started.

Each task is clearly labeled with its type, e.g. **Annotate**, **Correct, **and **Review**.

## Via the Tasks tab in Request details

If your workspace role gives you access to a request's management page, Request details, you can open and work on tasks from there. Workspace roles with access to Request management are Annotation Manager, Project Manager, Developer, and Admin.

::::WorkflowBlock
:::WorkflowBlockItem
Open the request, either from its project page or the operational overview.
:::

:::WorkflowBlockItem
Open the Tasks tab.
:::

:::WorkflowBlockItem
Locate the task you want. A few useful starting points:

- **Filter by Type** to narrow to a specific kind of task, for example **Type = Annotate** when you only want annotation tasks.
- **Filter by status** to see only To Do or Ongoing tasks.
- **Use the Assignment filter** to find tasks assigned to you or unassigned tasks.
- **Search by scene or assignment ID** when you know exactly which task or scene you're after.
:::

:::WorkflowBlockItem
Make sure the task is assigned to you. Your name should appear in the **Assigned workforce member** column. If it isn't:

- **If the task isn't assigned to anyone:** open its context menu and select **Assign**. Choose yourself, then confirm.
- **If the task is assigned to someone else:** use **Reassign** to take it over. Only do this if you're certain it's the right call. Reassigning takes the task away from a colleague who may already be working on it.
:::

:::WorkflowBlockItem
Open the task's context menu and select **Work on this task**.
